Karen L. Johnson re-joined the firm in 2019 in an Of Counsel capacity with a long and storied career in school law. Previously, Karen served as a Partner with the firm 2002-2006 where she specialized in general school counsel and employment matters. During the interim, she remained active in school law serving as Senior Legal Counsel for the Texas Education Agency over the last 12 years. Additionally, she has served Dallas ISD as General Counsel and Associate Superintendent for
Legal Services. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and University of Texas at Dallas on Educational Policy and Law.
Karen is a member of the Texas State Bar where she has served as the Director for the School Law Section and Editor Co-Chair for the School Law Newsletter. With over 46 years of experience in the field, Karen will be an invaluable addition to our team and a knowledgeable resource for our clients.
